Change.org and MySpace have launched Ideas for Change in America [1] (or on MySpace, www.myspace.com/changedotorg [2]). The idea for "Ideas" is simple: post your idea for reforming government, get your friends to vote for it, watch your idea rise (or not!), and see which ideas percolate to the top.
The top ten ideas will be matched with advocacy groups who will follow through to help ensure that each top idea gets consideration from the Obama Administration and the 111th Congress.
With the launch of Change.gov [3] earlier this month, president-elect Obama made the first step toward providing the transparency his campaign promised in setting up the Obama Administration. But even with this new online vehicle, citizens are still not able to collaborate in the ways they had become accustomed to during the campaign.
In response, Change.org has created this open platform [1] that allows anyone to submit an idea for how they would advance change on an issue important to them, and then in a very citizen-centered way [4], allows them to discuss ideas with others and vote on the best ideas from around the country.
So, want to eradicate global poverty, shut down Guantanomo Bay, find a cure for AIDs, make sure every child is literate? Or maybe your idea is much better than that -- let America know through Ideas for Change in America!
