Meet the Bloggers
Kari Dunn Saratovsky is Vice President of Social Innovation for the Case Foundation and publisher of the Social Citizens Blog. As a member of the foundation's leadership team, she focuses on strengthening civic engagement and volunteerism, developing cross-sector partnerships, and accelerating new approaches to giving and philanthropy. Kari brings with her vast experience in the government and nonprofit sectors, but perhaps her favorite role is that of a connector -- connecting passionate people, good ideas, and new approaches in an effort to address social problems. Before joining Case, Kari served as Executive Director of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. And before that, she was White House Liaison and Senior Advisor to the CEO at the Corporation for National and Community Service. Kari started her career addressing national policy issues as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill, and received her B.A. in political science and public policy at Indiana University.
Kristin Ivie, formerly the Social Innovation Program Manager for the Case Foundation, is currently an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School. She first joined the Foundation in 2008 to help support the U.S.-Palestinian Partnership, an initiative chaired by CEO Jean Case, which aims to promote economic and educational opportunities for the Palestinian people. She also focused on implementing the Foundation’s programs to build capacity in nonprofits through the use of social media and other new technology and to explore how the Millennial Generation uniquely supports causes they care about. Before joining the Case Foundation, Kristin worked with the Buxton Initiative, a nonprofit which fosters interfaith and intercultural understanding through dialogue, and with grassroots humanitarian projects and local handicrafts businesses in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Kristin received her B.A. in journalism and mass communication from UNC-Chapel Hill.
