Holiday Giving That's Out of the Box

This holiday season you don't have to be "Mr. Obvious" to realize that budgets are getting tighter, and needs greater.  But one thing is certain -- individuals and organizations are taking this opportunity to get a little creative.  My colleagues at the Case Foundation have just launched the new and improved Guide to Good Giving. Whether you want to purchase a gift that gives back, or you prefer to find a way to donate your time and talents, there are countless ways for you to spread the spirit of giving.

Also, we want to remind you to check out the GiveList, a comprehensive online catalog of ways you can make a difference by spending very little or nothing at all. This exciting little project we introduced you to last week has grown into quite a viral campaign.

Give the gift of peace, social justice and equality this year. Donate to Inter Pares' alternative giving campaign, "Give Something Big" http://www.givesomethingbig.com and send eco-friendly e-cards to your friends and family letting them know that a donation has been made in their name.

Gifts to Inter Pares contribute to the work of a wide variety of organizations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and North America. While they are in different contexts, they are all addressing structural roots of poverty, injustice, and obstacles to public participation, and promoting more equitable futures.
