Next Gen Leadership

Our thanks to Sean Stannard Stockton for his nod to Social Citizens in yesterday’s Tactical Philanthropy. For those of you unfamiliar with his work (and I’m sure that’s only one or two of you), Sean delves into what he calls the Second Great Wave of Philanthropy, and does a tremendous job capturing and cataloging new trends, leaders, technologies, and strategies that are reshaping philanthropy for the 21st century. Definitely a blog to keep an eye on for thoughtful conversation and emerging ideas in the sector.

And I can’t mention this new wave of philanthropists without also giving a nod to Rusty Stahl at Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy — who, together with 21/64 and Resource Generation, is spearheading a Generational Leadership Track at this year’s Council on Foundation’s meeting in Washington, D.C. They have a complete track of workshops, pre-conference and side-events aimed at serving emerging philanthropic professional, family members, and trustees.

Look forward to seeing many of you there — and look forward to taking some of our emerging online conversations to the hallways and sessions at CoF.
