So Long 2010, Hello 2011!

By all accounts, 2010 was a big year for Millennials. The year brought a number of memorable challenges, changes and events that impacted all of our daily lives. For many, 2010 will be remembered as the year Chilean miners survived underground in a collapsed mine for 69 days; record unemployment hit the US; and when natural disasters left a trail of devastation and destruction around the world.

For Millennials, these are some of the monumental “firsts” that will define and shape their generation.

With such an eventful year about to end, we at Social Citizens wondered how Millennials might reflect on it. We turned to some of our very own Millennials at the Case Foundation and asked them what it means to be a Millennial and what the future might hold for them and their peers.

Josh, Molly and Rachel share their thoughts about hope, community involvement and the promise of an uncertain future.

I agree with the girl who said that many people may remember 2010 as the year full of disasters and tragedies, but it should also be remembered as the year we came up with a lot of innovative new solutions for them. I think that's a nice way of thinking about it.

This term "millenials" I've only just started to hear it really, but I think it's a great era to be a young adult in. Like the guy in the video said, we weren't born with all the technology already there, but we've kind of grown with it, which I think is pretty cool.

haha, she wants an iPad, who doesn't! Great video though, some really intelligently put thoughts in there.

I quite like the term "millenials", I've heard it before but never really been sure of what it means and it turns out I am one! I agree with daniel, I think this is a great time to be a young adult with so many options ahead.

yeah I like that all the new amazing computer technology wasn't already here when I was born, and that I've been growing almost alongside it. I reckon we'll be almost the last generation of babies not to come out of the womb with 100 facebook friends already in place and speaking in binary!
