Tweet (and Text) Your Vote Experience This Election!

Anybody who followed my Tweets at ServiceNation and BlogHer know that I am a wee bit addicted to the microblogging service. Ok, I am a LOT addicted. So it should come as no surprise that I am digging Twitter Vote Report, the brainchild of Allison Fine and Nancy Scola that just went live today.

No, you cannot actually cast your vote via Twitter or text. Sorry. But what you CAN do is report on your voting experience, and help other people (or Tweeple) know what to expect, prepare, or avoid on Election Day. ServiceNation is tweeting!

Fellow Tweeters, unite -- there are a boatload of bloggers here, and they're all using hash tags #ServiceNation and #sn08 to track the action.

This is a great opportunity to find and follow other folks on Twitter who support causes and activism just like you do. So look up the people behind the tweets and add some perspectives to your homepage!

And if you don't believe me, know that I have added about 15 people in as many minutes --all from organizations/blogs/causes I know and care about, but had never thought to search for. A good lesson in turning over all media rocks to find the treasures hiding underneath.

P.S.  I'm at RocchiJulia if you're looking for a place to start.

That's the cumulative effect of ServiceNation, a campaign amibitously designed to "enact a new era of service and citizenship in America ... in which all Americans will work together to try and solve our greatest and most persistent societal challenges."

And they really do mean ALL Americans -- from the presidential candidates who will kick off the ServiceNation Summit on the anniversary of 9/11; to the 500 business, nonprofit, and government leaders convening there; to the countless community members participating in the national Day of Action on Sept. 27; to the most important participant of all ... YOU. Read more »
