Emily Yu

As Senior Director of Marketing and Partnerships for the Case Foundation, Emily is one of the Foundation’s leading advocates for cultivating and promoting innovative and scalable approaches that address many of today’s social challenges. Emily comes to the Social Citizens team excited to explore how the next generation of young adults will influence change across sectors over the coming decade. With a fresh attitude and outlook unique to this rising generation, she views their collective passion for innovation and collaboration as one that is bold, big and fearless. Emily sees great potential for this generation to create positive change on a scale that we have not yet experienced that will impact us all.

A native to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, Emily enjoys all things DC. When not online, she is usually out and about on her bicycle or checking out a local band performing live in concert. She also co-founded and served as editor for an award-winning blog covering the DC music scene.

The Case Foundation

Jean and Steve Case established the Case Foundation in 1997 to reflect their family’s commitment to finding lasting solutions for complex social challenges.

Our purpose is to expand giving, promote everyday philanthropy, deepen civic engagement, and broaden the use of new technologies to make giving more informed, efficient, and effective. We seek to do this while emphasizing the value of collaboration across all sectors, individual and organizational leadership, and entrepreneurship.

The youth vote held up in 2012 and yet again was the deciding factor in determining which candidate was elected President of the United States.
A key opportunity to foster collaboration among those who are actively working to create positive change in communities around the world.
The level of engagement and passion we see coming out of this generation is unprecedented.
Recognizing the unsung heroes in our sport who hit the track and trails every day to make a lifelong impact in the lives of young runners.
