In advance of MCON12, a virtual conference on Millennial engagement featuring more than 30 leading experts on July 19, Social Citizens convened a special preview discussion that begins to explore several of the conference's major themes. Participants included Derrick Feldmann, CEO of Achieve; Beth Kanter, social media guru and author; Amber Goodwin of Mobilize.org; Kari Saratovsky of KDS Startegies; Ken Tran of AmeriCorps Alums; Jenna Sauber of the Case Foundation; and myself on behalf of Social Citizens.
Derrick moderated the discussion and touched upon the following ideas and questions:
- The use of technology is an important piece in the relationship for Millennials and nonprofits. How do nonprofits grow a social media presence?
- How should nonprofits use social networks to attract Millennial volunteers and advocates?
- What are the challenges nonprofits have with attracting Millennials to their cause? How do we convince boards to work with and engage Millennials?
Check out the video for yourself and then be sure to register for MCON12 today and follow @SocialCitizen for live coverage!
